Buttercup Beach House is a spectacular West Coast,
oceanfront, vacation rental home on Quadra Island, a short 10 minute
ferry ride from Campbell River on Vancouver Island, BC. Located on a
private beach, Buttercup Beach House boasts an intimate view of Heriot
Island and Heriot Bay. Beyond it lays Rebecca Spit, Cortez Island and
the spectacular Coast Range Mountains.
A floral path down a short trail takes you from the
parking area to the home, gardens, a private lawn area and, down a private
staircase, to the beach. A geodesic dome built in the 1960’s forms
part of the unique and recently restored vacation home.
Buttercup Beach house comfortably sleeps four. There is one bedroom and
a loft each with a queen sized bed, a fully equipped kitchen that looks
out to the ocean, a library and a laundry room. You can watch the sun
rise and enjoy phenomenal views from the secluded balcony which hovers
over the water at high tide. Other amenities include a TV, DVD, high
speed internet access, BBQ and linens.
Access to the beach is only steps from your front door and is conducive
to exploring the vast array of marine life including: otters, eagles,
herons, mink, shellfish and ducks. On the rocks of Heriot Island and
the beach are starfish, sea anemones, chitins, sea urchins, limpets,
crabs, sand dollars, jellyfish, sea slugs, scallops, mussels, oysters,
clams and moon snails and many other marine creatures. Explore the teaming
tidal pools or take a short walk to Heriot Island at low tide.
Quadra Island offers all the practical and recreational amenities you
could need for a comfortable and restful island vacation. The amenities
of Heriot Bay – library, grocery and liquor store, restaurants,
kayak and bike rentals – are just a few minutes away. Conventional
and alternative health services - including acupuncture, chiropractic,
Traditional Chinese Medicine, massage - are readily available.
